Advanced 3D Animation Peer Critique – Andrew Scelta

Andrew Scelta’s Emotions animation has a nice set that easily establishes where his character is. The animation is pretty fluid and his character has expression. We can see what scares the character, and the level of scared that the character expresses seems realistic.

I only have two issues with Scelta’s animated character. His face freezes about halfway through, staying stuck on this closed mouthed emotion of worry; Although the eyes blink, none of his other facial features relax or readjust. My second issue is directed at the character’s feet. The jump seems off because his feet don’t set up for the hop, and then his left foot (foot on the right most side of the animation) becomes dead. These issues set aside, Scelta’s animation is well rounded, fluid, and interesting enough to make you want to watch it multiple times.
